Step 1: In-Home Consultation and Quote
Everything starts with a conversation and a tape measure. We come out to your home (or you visit our Salt Lake City showroom), look at the space, talk through how you actually use your kitchen, and take rough measurements. This is also where we discuss budget honestly — including financing options if you want to spread the investment out. Most homeowners have a written quote in hand within a day or two of that first visit.
How long does the quote stage take? Expect one to three business days from your first call to a scheduled visit, with measurements and a written estimate completed during or right after that visit.
Step 2: Material Selection and Ordering

Step 3: Templating — Where Precision Begins
Once your cabinets are installed and level, we create a digital template of your exact countertop layout using laser measurement. This is not the same as the rough measurements from Step 1. Templating captures every wall that isn’t quite square, every overhang, and every sink and cooktop cutout down to the millimeter.
Why can’t we template earlier? Because countertops are cut to fit your installed cabinets, not your drawings. Templating after the cabinets are set is what guarantees seams line up and the fit is tight. Skipping or rushing this step is the number-one cause of bad installs we get called in to fix.
Step 4: Fabrication in Our Shop
With the template finalized, your slab moves into fabrication. Our team cuts the material, shapes your chosen edge profile, polishes the surface, and cuts the sink and faucet openings. For hard natural stones like granite and quartzite, this takes longer — the material is dense, the diamond tooling works harder, and edge work is slower. That’s a feature, not a delay: careful fabrication is what separates a countertop that lasts decades from one that chips at the seams.
Typical fabrication time: seven to fourteen days, depending on material hardness, edge complexity, and how many surfaces your project includes.
Step 5: Installation Day
For most kitchens, installation is a single day. Our crew removes your old surfaces (if we didn’t already), sets the new countertops, secures and levels everything, seams any joints, and seals natural stone.
